Shié Kasai is a Montreal-based visual artist from Sapporo, Japan. She has lived in Montréal, Québec Canada since 1998.
Her multidisciplinary practice includes drawing, sculpture, puppet animation, and collaborative installations. Her art explores themes of identity, memory, and the ephemeral nature of everyday life, often in response to the unique characteristics of a space, while utilizing familiar objects and domestic resources.
She has also illustrated for medical education for over a decade.
She is a mother, bakes sourdough bread, and creates drawings reflecting her daily experiences.
